STALCRAFT Meta note
The HK XM8 is a 5.56 assault rifle with a large standard magazine, one of the tightest hip-fire spreads in its class and below-average recoil. Its per-shot damage is somewhat above the class middle, and it loses only a little damage over distance, with falloff starting at mid range. That combination suits both hip-fire at close range and aimed fire further out.

The XM8 is a range of firearms that was jointly developed by the American arms company ATK (Alliant Techsystems) and the German company Heckler & Koch. The XM8 was based on the HK G36, boasts solid performance, and was developed mainly as a replacement for the M16 and M4A1 assault rifles.
