The ASM Serval is a 9x39 assault rifle with a high rate of fire, very low horizontal recoil and a quick aiming time for its class. On the other side, its spread is among the widest for an assault rifle, its magazine is small, damage falloff begins at short range and its maximum distance is shorter than most rifles'. That profile points to close-to-mid range fights.
