In-game description (EXBO)
An organic artifact, covered with numerous spherical formations containing a sticky, biologically active liquid. Someone from the inhabitants of the Zone tried to give it an alternative name, Helminth, but it didn't stick—the stalkers didn't think it was the best idea to carry an artifact with a name like that in their set.
