The mysterious composition and structure of Swamp Rot raise many questions for scientists due to its adsorptive properties. Trials of Swamp Rot-based drugs on rats at Research Institute 7, conducted by the department of advanced developments, showed results that significantly surpass even the latest generation of absorbents. However, due to the short shelf life outside special chambers, the preparation did not advance beyond an experimental sample. Nevertheless, stalkers are most interested in whether the artifact is made of stone, which somehow became wood, or if it's an ordinary petrified piece of wood.
