The set of army protective gear, specifically designed for the conditions of the Zone, was commissioned by SSPP. Although Scythians are intended exclusively for internal use by the Special Security Perimeter Protection, many worn equipment sets end up in the hands of stalkers through various smuggling schemes and are slightly refined by local mechanics to avoid excessive complaints about their used condition.
